چکیده

Recent developments are summarized in the theory of Bose– Einstein and Fermi–Dirac correlations, with emphasis on the necessity of a simultaneous analysis of particle spectra and quantum statistical correlations for a detailed reconstruction of the space-time picture of particle emission. The reviewed topics are as follows: basics and formalism of quantum-statistical correlations, model-independent analysis of short-range correlations, Coulomb wavefunction corrections and the core/halo picture for n-particle Bose–Einstein correlations, the graph rules to calculate these correlations even with partial coherence in the core; particle interferometry in ee collisions including the Andersson–Hofmann model; the invariant Buda–Lund particle interferometry; the Buda–Lund, the Bertsch–Pratt and Yano–Koonin–Podgoretskii parameterizations, the Buda–Lund hydro model and its applications to (π/K) + p and Pb + Pb collisions at CERN SPS, and to low energy heavy ion collisions; the binary source formalism and the related oscillations in the two-particle Bose–Einstein and Fermi–Dirac correlation functions; the experimental signs of expanding rings of fire and shells of fire in particle and heavy ion physics and their similarity to planetary nebulae in stellar astronomy; the signal of partial restoration of the axial UA(1) symmetry restoration in the two-pion Bose–Einstein correlation function; the back-to-back correlations of bosons with in-medium mass modifications; and the analytic solution of the pion-laser model.

Investigation of the direct DNA damages irradiated by protons of different energies using geant4-DNA toolkit

Background: The total yields of direct Single-Strand Breaks (SSBs) and Double-Strand Breaks (DSBs) in proton energies varying from 0.1 to 40 MeV were calculated. While other studies in this field have not used protons with energy less than 0.5 MeV, our results show interesting and complicated behavior of these protons. Materials and Methods: The simulation has been done using the Geant4-DNA too...

Multifragment Production in Reactions of 112 Sn 1 112 Sn and 124 Sn 1 124 Sn at E y A 5 40 MeV

Multiplicities of intermediate-mass fragments (IMFs), neutrons, and charged particles were measured for 112Sn 1 112Sn and 124Sn 1 124Sn at EyA 40 MeV. Significantly different scalings of the mean IMF multiplicities with neutron and charged-particle multiplicities are observed for the two reactions. These differences can be qualitatively understood in terms of fragment emission from an expandi...

A method for range calculation of proton in liquid water: Validation study using Monte Carlo method and NIST data

Introduction: The main advantage of using ion beams over photons in radiotherapy is due to their inverse depth-dose profiles, allowing higher doses to tumors, while better sparing normal tissues. When calculating dose distributions with ion beams, one crucial point is the uncertainty of the Bragg-peak range. Recently great effort is devoted to enhance the accuracy of the comput...

Access of Solar Protons into the Polar Cap A Persistent NorthSouth Asymmetry

Before the magnetic storm sudden commencement during the November 2, 1967, solar particle event, the access of 1.2to 40-Mev protons into the high-latitude portion of the northern polar region was delayed by ~20 hours. At the same time the access delay for 10to 40-Mev protons was •1 hour in the southern polar region a•d at middle northern latitudes. The implications of the north-south asymmetry ...

Integral Serendipitous Detection of the Gamma-ray Microquasar Ls 5039

LS 5039 is the only X-ray binary persistently detected at TeV energies by the Cherenkov HESS telescope. It is moreover a γ-ray emitter in the GeV and possibly MeV energy ranges. To understand important aspects of jet physics, like the magnetic field content or particle acceleration, and emission processes, such as synchrotron and inverse Comp-ton (IC), a complete modeling of the multiwavelength...
